Police record one more drug overdose death in Central West End

ST. LOUIS – Investigators from the City of St. Louis said a sixth person had died of a drug overdose after several were found to have overdosed.
On Saturday, police and St. Louis responded to overdose calls between 3:19 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in residential areas in the 4300 and 4400 blocks of Forest Park Avenue.
Eight people, seven men and one woman, have overdosed. Five of the men and women were declared dead. Two other overdose victims were taken to hospital.
Firefighters initially said five people were killed.
Two EMS firefighters were also hospitalized due to possible exposure to fentanyl, but they were released in good health a short time later.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
Police of St. Louis said the investigation is still ongoing.
