Police officers storm St. John’s Prep in Danvers, Massachusetts after reporting an “active gunman.”

A private school has been locked down after reports of an active gunman on campus.
St. John’s Prep School in Danvers, Massachusettsabout 25 miles north of Boston, went into lockdown Monday afternoon afterward police received reports of gunfire being fired.
“There was a report of an active shooter on the Benjamin Hall campus. Danvers and the state police are on site,” the school said on its website.
“Students, faculty and staff are housed on-site. We will provide further updates as soon as possible.”
Massachusetts State Police said they found no threat after searching the building.
Authorities said they would conduct a second search of the building but have not identified a suspect and reported no injuries.
State police said students were being evacuated from the buildings.
St. John Prep is a private all-boys collegiate prep school accommodating students in grades 6 through 12.
