Police officers are investigating the death of a man who was found at the base of a 30ft cliff as his girlfriend was waiting for him at the base of the mountain

COPS is investigating the mysterious death of a skier, found at the base of a 30-foot cliff while his girlfriend was waiting for him at the base of a mountain.

The 21-year-old man and his friends jumped off a ski lift to ski down the mountain but never returned, sources say Utah Police.

The man was found dead of his injuries at the base of the cliff at Park City Mountain Resort on Friday, April 1, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man, his girlfriend and another friend had exited the King-Con elevator, authorities said.

“When the girlfriend and boyfriend got to the end of the run, they waited for the now deceased to come down the mountain,” Lt. Andrew Wright.

“The friend got help from a slope attendant who radioed other patrols to go down the same slope to look for the 21-year-old.”

The man was eventually found at the foot of the cliff. There were no witnesses to the incident.

The man’s identity has not been released by authorities and his death is currently under investigation.

“Park City Mountain and the entire family at Vail Resorts extend our deepest sympathy and support to this guest’s family and friends,” said Mike Goar, Chief Operating Officer of Park City Mountain Resort.

On February 26, a 54-year-old skier died while visiting the park. The Pennsylvania man was found dead on the mountain, police said.

Days earlier, on February 13, a 14-year-old died after being knocked unconscious at another Utah ski resort, this time Alta Ski Resort.

in the Colorado, a skier was found unconscious after crashing into a tree at Eldora Mountain Ski Resort, also in February. At least two others died during the ski season at the same resort.

And in December, a 60-year-old died after crashing into a tree at the resort. He was given life-saving assistance, but he was pronounced dead in the first-aid room, police said.
