Police investigating robbery at two St. Louis separately on Sunday

ST. LOUIS – Police of the City of St. Louis is investigating two robberies that occurred at separate churches on Sunday morning.
The first robbery occurred at Baptist Life of Jericho Church on St. Louis at about 10:06 a.m. Police said the victim told them she was sitting in her car in the church’s parking lot when a man opened the passenger side door, pointed a gun to her head, and told her not to. move. The suspect took the victim’s purse and diaper bag and ran away. The victims were not injured.
The second incident happened around 10:50 a.m. at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church on Theobald Street. That’s where police said a 73-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man were walking out of the church when they were approached by a teenage male suspect. Police say the teen pointed a gun at the man and asked for his keys. The victim handed over the keys to his 2013 Lexus LS450 and the three suspects drove away.
Police say they have not been told whether the two incidents are related at this time. The two churches are about 5 miles apart.
