PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are trying to figure out how and why a body ended up in a warehouse behind a home in the Knoxville neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
“We have a body in a suitcase… it looks like it was chopped up,” was the disturbing detail revealed by a 911 call after a body was found inside a warehouse on Reifert Road in the South Hills on Saturday.
Multiple police units were called to the scene and could be seen entering and leaving the warehouse to collect and process evidence.
With warning tape and police surrounding the house, detectives worked to find out what happened.
Details about the victims, including age, gender, or how long they may have been in the warehouse, have not been released.
This shocking discovery left neighbors feeling uneasy as they themselves waited to find out what had happened.
Ronnie Davis said: “I was listening to the police scanner and… I was really surprised.
Davis has lived in the neighborhood for about six months and says it’s a normally quiet neighborhood.
“I don’t know how I feel right now,” Davis said. “I have mixed feelings, I don’t know if I’m going to sleep tonight.”
The discovery comes just a week after a stabbing took place at the same house.
Police say the stabbing happened after an altercation between the two men.
However, there is no word if both are connected.
The cause and manner of death is still pending.
