Pokemon Unite Season 5 is coming soon and The unity Twitter account is teasing the next three Pokemon come to the game. The Wild West themed section New Sheriff In Town will introduce two Pokemon in February and a third in March, and we already have a good idea of who those Pokemon might be.
The Twitter post is an Old West wanted board covered with posters of new and old Pokemon. Dragonite, Tsareena and Trevenant are shown with three hidden Pokemon. While we don’t know exactly who they are, the posters reveal that the next Pokemon will be an All-Rounder, then we’ll get a new Supporter, and in March we’ll see an Attacker is different. We also see an icon for each of their Unity Moves, which tells us a lot about who the Pokemon could be.
The first one has become known thanks to a recent data. All-Rounder coming in early February is Aegislash. We’ve seen the full set of Pokemon moves, and the Unite Move icon here matches the one we saw in the leaked footage. Aegislash can switch between offensive and defensive forms when it uses its moves, and has a Unite Move that attacks the ground, creating a long rift that sends enemies into the air. It has been suggested that Aegislash will launch on February 14, but due to two new Pokemon in February, it could arrive earlier than expected.
The other two Pokemon are more mysterious. The second Pokemon of February is a Support, and the icon for its Unite Move appears to be some kind of healing ability or AOE buff with leaf, wind, or ice textures. That leaves (or wind or ice) things pretty much open, but we have a few guidelines to move on. Early footage of the game featured Clefable as a playable character. It is thought that Clefable has finally become Wigglytuff, but perhaps the Fairy Pokemon is finally ready to join the fray. Another possibility is Vanillixe, may have been teased during the winter holiday event. Of the three newcomers, this is definitely the most mysterious.
March’s new Pokemon is Attacker, and its Unite Move symbol tells us a lot about who it could be. While the two angry eyes in the emblem might remind you of moves like Mean Look or Pokemon like Krookodile and Sandaconda, those eyes are actually a perfect fit for Gen 7’s Laser Focus Moves There are 19 evolutionary lines that can learn Laser Focus, including Mewtwo, Flygon, and Bisharp, but there are two Pokemon that stand out in particular.
Scyther learns Laser Focus at level 44. If given the Metal Coat to hold, Scyther will evolve into Scizor. Additionally, Legends: Arceus introduced Kleavor, an evolved form of Scyther when it came into contact with Black Augerite. Unite will do a great job to introduce Pokemon Hisuian close to the launch of Legend: Arceus, so maybe Kleavor will be our March Pokemon. Another possible option is Marshadow. A very early data for Unite revealed a move set for Marshadow, so perhaps its time has finally come.
There is some frustration surrounding the fact that none of the new Pokemon are Speedster. There hasn’t been a single new Speedster since launch, but there could still be clues here. If you look in the corners, you’ll see two more wanted posters flying over the bulletin board. This could have been a speeding car passing by and blowing them away, perhaps implying that April’s newcomer will have quick convictions. It’s a stretch, but when you’re dying of thirst in the desert, all you can do is walk towards the water and hope it’s not an illusion.
NetEase calls it a bug, but others call it a feature.
