POKEMON Go’s first event of 2022 – Mountains of Power – is live, with new wild encounters, research quests and more.
Heritage Season continues with the Mount of Power event announced on official blog this week.
Pokemon Go players have one week to complete the event’s Field Research and Time Research missions.
This is also the first time a Shiny Slugma encounter will be in the game.
Pokemon Go Mountains of Power of the event when?
Pokemon Go Mountains of Power will launch today, January 7, at 10 a.m. local time.
It runs until Thursday, January 13th at 8pm local time, so you have a week to complete different tasks.
Event continues Story of Heritage season and revolves around Stone and Steel-type Pokemon.
“Spark’s intuition led him to believe that the second mechanism of the mysterious door requires the help of Stone and Steel-type Pokémon to unlock it,” the blog reads.
“Journey through terrain reminiscent of mountains in regions like Johto and Sinnoh, and work with Spark to unlock the next mechanic!”
Pokemon Go Mountains of Power event reward
If the reality of your grueling New Year’s workout regimen is discouraging you, then Pokemon Go will give you a break.
During the event period, the walking distance needed to earn hearts with your buddy will be halved.
So make the most of it while you can to boost your buddy status with half the usual effort.
Pokemon Go Mountains of Power Timed Research
Timed Research in Mountains of Power will focus on catching pokemon, hatching eggs and earning Buddy Candy.
Your reward for completing the quest will lead to encounters with pokemon like Mawile and Beldum.
You will need to complete the Time Research quests before the end of the event to earn all the rewards.

- Earn 2 Candies while walking with your best friend – Hot encounter
- Hatch an Egg – Alolan Geodude’s Meeting

- Capturing 6 Different Species of PokEmon – Chimecho Encounter
- Earn 2 candies while walking with your best friend – Encounter with Onix
- Hatch 2 Eggs – Beldum Encounter
- Encounter with mawile
- 2000 x Stardust
- 10 Ultra Balls
An encounter with an electric field research quest in the Pokemon Go mountains
Completing fieldwork missions in the Mountains of Power can lead to encounters with Alolan Geodude, Slugma, and Mawile, with shiny variations of all three available.
Here are the quests you need to complete along with their rewards:
- Hatching an Egg – Alolan Geodude’s Meeting
- Walk 1 km – Encounter with Slugma
- Earn 2 candies while walking with your best friend – Encounter with Mawile
Pokemon Go Mountains of Power Raids
Pokemon Go Mountains of Power Raids first appeared in the game with the launch of Mega Aerodactyl.
Heatran also returns in Five-Star Raid, amid a series of Stones and Steels.
