Pokémon fans go into raptures when they claim a relic of a winning streak found during the Liverpool game in Southampton

POKEMON fans believe Kyle Walker-Peters had a secret weapon in Southampton 4-4 Liverpool thriller.

Fans of the hit series assume the Saints full-back hid or created a Pokémon relic under his shirt!

The England star was photographed cleaning a ball for a throw-in – turning it into the very image of a deadly pokeball.

The round object is used in the series to capture and contain Pokémon and is also the symbol for the show.

One fan also compared KWP’s hidden weapon to a Voltorb – an electric version of a Pokeball that’s extremely delicate and easily explodes at the slightest jolt.

So Sunday could not have been at St Mary’s as the surprise events in a goal fest with each team coming from two goals down would have resulted in a cracker.

Dioga Jota and Roberto Firmino gave Liverpool a 2-0 lead while Southampton showed why they finished bottom.

But James Ward-Prowse, Kamaldeen Sulemana’s first two goals for the Saints and Adam Armstrong leveled the relegated hosts 4-2.

Gakpo and Jota then scored within 60 seconds, ending a competition as lively as any Pokémon show.

As for Walker-Peters, his electrifying form in what has been a poor season for Southampton could nonetheless justify a move to a Prem giant.

Manchester United and Chelsea were linked with the 26-year-old earlier this season.

And his best chance of extending his two senior caps could be such a move.
