Pizza delivery driver in Indiana dies after porch collapses during delivery

CONNERSVILLE, Ind. – A 45-year-old pizza delivery driver died Saturday after an awning collapsed beneath him as he was trying to deliver a pizza.
According to the Connersville Police Department, the incident happened on W. 27th Street around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Officers responding to the scene said they had located a man who fell through a collapsed porch in front of a house. Police said the man was pinned by debris and motionless.
Police said the man was taken to the hospital while Fayette County EMS attempted to take life-saving measures, but he was eventually pronounced dead on arrival.
Police identified the man as William Fields, 45, of Connersville. Police said Fields was a delivery driver for Pizza King.
At this point, police have determined the death to be an accident and stated there is no ongoing criminal investigation.
