BOWLER Mark Roth has passed away at the age of 70 from complications from pneumonia.

A member of the Professional pitchers’ Association shared the heartbreaking news on social media on Friday.

“Hi. I have bad news. A while ago I received a call from Denise Roth that we were scared,” he wrote. “The great Mark Roth passed away today.

“Denise asked me to let you know, and thank you all for the kindness. I can’t believe he’s gone. He’s a hero. Mark is at peace now.”

The PBA Tour’s Twitter page read: “We lost a legend today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Mark Roth.”

The iconic athlete again suffered from congestive heart failure but complicated pneumonia.

Just five days ago, his wife said he was “very ill” and was asking for “prayers from the family.”

At the time, she wrote: “I really don’t want to make this post, but he needs prayers from his family, friends, bowling family, his fans, and anyone else enough. kind to send prayers.”

Roth suffered a stroke in 2009 before having a heart attack in 2019.

The bowler has won 34 titles with most coming in his prime as he is a regular on ABC’s bowling channel Wide World of Sports on Saturdays.

He is also a Hall of Famer bowling.
