Pine Manor man arrested after a child shoots himself in accidental shooting

A 19-year-old Pine Manor man has been arrested after a 4-year-old was injured in an accidental shooting.

Cesar Alexis Reyes Juarez faces charges of contributing to delinquency or dependence on a child, trafficking in cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, negligence that could result in allowing a child access to a weapon, alter and destroy the medication, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooting occurred Saturday in the Pine Manor community when congressmen said they responded to a child with gunshot wounds to the arm and leg.

The shooting happened in the 5500 block of First Avenue.

Investigators learned the gun the child used to shoot himself belonged to Reyes Juarez.

When they searched Reyes Juarez’s room, authorities said they found cocaine, oxycodone, a holster and a magazine as well as 9mm bullets.

It became known that Reyes Juarez had told witnesses to lie to congressmen and hide his guns and drugs, delegates said. Pine Manor man arrested after a child shoots himself in accidental shooting
