Ronaldo was benched for a second game, with Goncao Ramos again favored up front.
He came on as a second-half substitute but was unable to parry Youssef En-Nesyri’s opener.
Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez criticized the decision to remove him from the team.
Taking to Instagram, she said: “Today your friend and coach made a bad decision. That friend for whom you have so many words of admiration and respect.
“Just like when you came into the game, he saw how everything changed, but it was too late.
“The best player in the world, his most powerful weapon, cannot be underestimated.
“You can’t stand up for someone who doesn’t deserve it either. Life gives us lessons.
“Today we didn’t lose, we learned.”

Dismayed by the result, Ronaldo cried as he walked down the tunnel.
It will likely be his last World Cup as the ex-Manchester United star turns 41 in 2026.
But while many laughed at his reaction, Morgan jumped to his defence.
He continued Twitter: “Very sad to see@Cristianoin tears when his dream of becoming a world champion ended.
“Those who mock him should remember what he did for football. For me he is the 🐐 – and a great guy who had the toughest year of his life on and off the pitch.
“He has earned our respect.”
