Phil Foden had a beach club bust with his girlfriend after she checked his phone while he was swimming in the sea

England’s Phil Foden has been forced to leave a posh beach club after he broke up with his girlfriend after she looked at his phone.

Rebecca Cooke yelled: “You think I’m an asshole?” before exiting a Corfu resort watched and caught on video by stunned holidaymakers.

She told him, “We can’t take you anywhere, that always happens,” as a day at the beach erupted in a blazing riot.

The Man City ace, 22, clashed with Rebecca Cooke in front of shocked holidaymakers and resort staff after she grabbed his phone while he was swimming in the sea.

Video obtained by The Sun on Sunday shows Rebecca – her blonde hair in a bun – yelling at the player as they follow two bouncers up the steps to a beach club.

She thumbs at Foden as she points back towards the beach.

Rebecca can also be seen poking her head towards the winger and yelling, “Do you think I’m an ad***head?”

As security helped them exit, Rebecca tells Foden, “Yeah I wonder why, mate.”

Foden doesn’t answer, but Rebecca yells, “Tell her ‘n’ all.”

The couple started dating when they were teenagers and have two children.

The couple – with friends and family including his parents Phil Snr, 43, and Claire, 42 – had arrived in Glyfada Beach in Corfu on Wednesday in a luxury van under their own safety.

They booked sunbeds and witnesses said Foden posed for photos with female fans who approached him on the public beach.

A witness said: “He went for a swim and she looked at his phone. She got extremely angry.

“They really got into a fight on the beach and security got involved.”

Another source said: “It was a fight between a footballer and his girlfriend. She screamed and screamed. You were only here one day. It all started down there on the beach. It was really aggressive and intense.

“Then they came to the bar and she yelled at him. That doesn’t usually happen here.”

A British holidaymaker who witnessed the scenes said he saw resort security personnel helping the Foden party pack their towels and beachwear.

Another holidaymaker at the Beach Club – where a 400ml beer costs 6.50 euros (£5.50) and a cocktail 12 euros (£10) – said Foden and his family had agreed to leave after they had been spoken to about the dispute.

He said: “She was in his face and Foden didn’t answer. They went of their own accord.”

Another video shows members of the group – believed to be Claire and Phil Snr – following the player and Rebecca out of the bar.

Pictures also show her and Foden’s heads approaching as they exchange words on the beach before leaving.

The British witness said: “When we arrived he went to the toilet so I asked for a picture and he told me ‘no’ which I thought was a bit rude.

“We sat on the patio and they were down on the beach.

“The next thing you know, they’re coming up the stairs and having a big argument. Everything just broke out.

“It was only like five minutes and then they left abruptly.

“It was a lot of swearing, it came in his face. It’s also a posh place.

“His girlfriend said, ‘We can’t take you anywhere because that always happens.’

“It didn’t look like they were drinking or anything and I just saw Foden sipping on a bottle of water. I think it had to do with other women.

“It seemed like he would turn down photos, but when women approached him, it was different.

“But whatever happened, I was shocked at how Rebecca acted. She was the one who caused the scene.

“I felt a bit sorry for him because I thought he might have come to a posh place with not many Brits, so he didn’t get recognised.

“I don’t think she should have yelled at him for all to see. It brought a lot more attention to the situation and a lot of people saw it.”

Sources say mom heard Claire say she was “tired of the drama.”

Foden will be at the World Championships in Qatar this winter.

He joined the Man City side in November 2017 aged just 17 and made his England debut in a 1-0 away win in Iceland in September 2020.

During the trip, Foden and team-mate Mason Greenwood were later sent home in disgrace after smuggling two cousins ​​into the team’s hotel in breach of Covid rules.

One of the girls, make-up artist Lara Clausen, 19, said she slept with Foden before England team security officers burst into her room at 6am looking for the player.
