Petitos have “strong arguments” after claiming a “bombshell letter” about Brian’s mother

GABBY Petito’s parents could have a stiff legal battle amid a new claim that Brian Laundrie’s mum wrote him a letter warning of ‘burning after reading’, an expert has claimed.

Brian Laundrie made a shocking admission in his notebook, which was first revealed last week, months after he was recovered by the FBI along with his skeletal remains.

Laundrie insisted in the diary that he took the life of his girlfriend Gabby Petito because she was injured and refused to get him help, which was questioned by those prosecuting the case.

Travel influencer Gabby’s remains were discovered in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park on Sept. 21, 2021, after she and her boyfriend took a doomed cross-country trip.

Pat Reilly, the attorney representing Gabby’s parents, Joe and Nichole, issued a statement condemning the release of the notebook by laundry attorney Steven Bertolino.

And he claimed they had failed to release further information about Gabby’s tragic murder amid a lawsuit against her.

Reilly told WFLA: “I find it ironic that Mr Bertolino says he has published this in full transparency.

“Well someone should ask him why he isn’t putting out the entire notebook – but more importantly, ask him why he’s not putting out Roberta Laundrie’s letter to her son.”

In his statement, Reilly claims there is a copy of a letter containing some “extreme details” of Petito’s death.

Neama Rahmani, a former Assistant US Attorney and current President of West Coast Trial Lawyers, told The Sun: “The ‘burn after reading’ letter is important because it shows the Laundrie family [alleged] Knowledge.

“They have not said anything publicly, all statements they have made have gone through their attorney.

“This letter helps show the Petitos what the Laundries knew and when they knew it, and how they made statements about the search for Gabby when they supposedly knew she was already dead.

“If the letter helps show that Brian’s parents knew he murdered Gabby, that’s a very strong case.”

Reilly claimed the letter, found at the Laundrie family home after being taken from her son’s van, is undated and “written after Gabby was killed and before Brian took his own life”.

SHOCK LAW

Rahmani added: “I suspect that more will be revealed about the actions of the laundries as the investigation is conducted, documents are subpoenaed and people are deposed.

“We’re going to get a lot more information about when they knew Gabby was dead and what their son Brian told them.”

Gabby’s parents, Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, are seeking more than $30,000 in damages in a lawsuit alleging the laundries knew their son had murdered the 22-year-old.

They are not being investigated by the police and insist they have fully cooperated with the authorities.

The March filing alleges that Christopher and Roberta helped Brian cover up Gabby’s murder and would help him flee the country, which they vehemently deny.

The complaint claims the reaction to her son’s actions was “shocking, cruel and absolutely unbearable”.

It is also alleged that instead of helping to find Gabby, they ignored her family and went camping with Brian.

Roberta is also said to have avoided contact with Nichole by blocking her Facebook profile and cell phone number as she desperately tried to locate her daughter.

Brian’s confession

“Christopher Laundrie and Roberta Laundrie exhibited extreme and outrageous behavior which, under the circumstances, constitutes behavior which transcends every possible bounds of decency and would be considered shocking, cruel and utterly intolerable in a civilized community,” the filing reads . .

On October 12, 2021, Dr. Brent Blue, Teton County Coroner, that Gabby had died of strangulation.

Laundrie wrote in his diary: “From the moment I decided to take her pain away, I knew I couldn’t go on without her.

“I lost our entire future together, every moment we could have cherished.

“I’m ending my life, not for fear of punishment, but because I can’t bear to live another day without her.”

The 23-year-old, who fatally shot himself during a manhunt, also alluded to seeing his family after killing the young vlogger.

“I rushed home to spend whatever time I had with my family. I wanted to go north and have James or TJ kill me, but I didn’t want them to serve time in jail for my mistake, although I’m sure they would have loved to,” Laundrie reportedly wrote.
