PETER Phillips looked loved up today as he made his Epsom Derby debut with girlfriend Lindsay Wallace.
The Queen’s grandson, 44, introduced his new partner to Her Majesty just months ago after finalizing his divorce from Autumn last year after 12 years of marriage.
Peter donned a top hat as Linsday – an old school friend – beamed in a coral dress with the couple, who were joined by his mother Princess Anne, as well as his sister and brother-in-law Zara and Mike Tindall.
The horse-loving monarch has been forced to withdraw from the Epsom Derby today after experiencing some “inconveniences” during Thursday’s celebrations.
She also missed yesterday’s thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral, which Peter, father of daughters Savannah, 11, and Isla, 10, attended without wife Wallace.
Peter and Autumn Phillips announced in February 2020 that they were separating after more than a decade together.
The pair first met at the 2003 Canadian Grand Prix when Autumn was working for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.
After moving to the UK, Autumn married Peter at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle in 2008 and they became the proud parents of their two daughters.
Royal insiders have previously said that Peter is the Queen’s “favourite” grandson and Her Majesty was said to have been “upset” when the marriage fell apart.
In the months following their split, Peter and Autumn were scheduled to hold a court showdown as they tried to reach an agreement.
However, in June 2021 a spokesman for the couple confirmed they had “resolved” their financial issues in the High Court.
Three months before his divorce is finalized, the father of two is said to have driven 460 miles from his home in Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire to visit his new girlfriend Ms Wallace in lockdown.
The 40-year-old is the daughter of an oil magnate and a school friend of Zara Tindall.
Lindsay and Zara both attended Gordonstoun, the £40,000 school in Moray, Scotland, which was also attended by Prince Charles and Prince Philip.
In January, Peter showed off his new partner the Queen, who is celebrating her platinum anniversary this week, after he hosted a shoot party in Windsor.
On Thursday, the monarch stepped out to watch Trooping the Color before beaming onto the balcony alongside her family – while cheeky Prince Louis kept her company.
But after experiencing some “inconveniences” that day, she withdrew from yesterday’s service at St Paul’s Cathedral as the other royals gathered.
Buckingham Palace also confirmed the Queen would miss today’s Epsom Derby due to her ongoing health problems.
The monarch, who suffers from episodic mobility issues, did not attend the major sporting event and watched the race on television from Windsor Castle.
Kate revealed the Queen was “fine” but found the first day of the celebrations “very exhausting”.
