Peter Crouch reveals private chat with Harry Kane during Man Utd transfer talk and reveals his ‘only real option’

PETER CROUCH has revealed that Harry Kane has refused to give a straight answer on his future during a private chat with the former Tottenham man.
The 29-year-old England captain scored the opening goal with a stunning goal in the first half of Spurs’ home game against Brentford on Saturday.
Many are speculating if it could have been Kane’s last appearance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while speculation is rife over a possible move.
He is preparing for the final 12 months of his contract in north London.
Manchester United are heavily linked with a change in the Lilywhites’ record goalscorer.
And Crouch, 42, who spent two seasons at Tottenham between 2009 and 2011, revealed before the game against Brentford that he had discussed Kane’s future with the man himself.
I keep talking BT sportsHe said: “I asked him the question (is it his last home game for Spurs) and he answered very diplomatically. I don’t think even he knows.”
“He may have ambitions to go somewhere else and possibly win a trophy, but it’s not just his fault, he’s got a year to go.”
“There’s a man at the club who doesn’t want to lose his star player and what would it mean to those fans to lose a player of Kane’s caliber?”
“Where can he go? Manchester City City is now finished. Manchester United is the only real option I can see. You can’t go to Chelsea. You can’t go to Arsenal.”

“Newcastle might be an option but I still think it’s a sideways move. Newcastle have great potential but I think he might as well stay at Tottenham.”
Kane has scored 277 goals in 433 games for Spurs.
And despite the team’s disappointing season, Kane has a solid goal record – he’s scored 30 goals in 48 games.
It is understood he would pay Man Utd back around £100m if they try to sign him this summer.
However, the Red Devils are also interested in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, while Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos is also in the squad.
Following Crouch’s comments, Rio Ferdinand added: “You need the answer from him. We need to hear from Harry. He’s very reticent about what he wants to talk about his future, which is understandable.”
“It depends on what he sees as a benchmark for his career. What does he expect from his career?”
“Does he want to top the personal accolades of England’s top scorer, a one-club man at Spurs and a dominant in all stats? Or does he want to take more responsibility for the fact that it’s a team sport and you win things as a team?’”
