IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford was knocked out of the fourth-ranked Nittany Lions’ sport in opposition to No. 3 Iowa on Saturday.

Clifford was out of uniform on the sideline earlier than the beginning of the third quarter. Backup Ta’Quan Roberson, who has appeared in 4 video games this season, changed him.

The character of Clifford’s damage was not disclosed.

Clifford went to the locker room to get checked after taking a tough hit from linebacker Jack Campbell within the second quarter. With Roberson within the sport, the Lions had minus-19 yards on their final three possessions earlier than half.

Clifford was intercepted on two of the Nittany Lions’ first three possessions. He threw for a landing go and ran for one more rating to assist the Lions take a 17-10 halftime lead.
