YouTube star Leo Rex’s ex-wife has told The US Sun that his family is launching an investigation into his death from shock.

His death is mysterious, and close friend and online star Tony Hughes claims he died on Friday but was not found for at least 72 hours.

Lucie Colomb, who divorced Rex and placed a restraining order against him last year, has already spoken to the US embassy in Bangkok in a desperate bid to uncover the truth.

“I am in contact with the embassy and the Thai police, we have secured legal representation there to conduct our own investigations,” she told The US Sun.

“I can’t reveal more now. We just want to get to the bottom of the truth.”

Rex, whose real name was Laith Abdallah Algaz, was found dead in the bathroom of his apartment, wearing only a black shirt.

He was also bleeding from his mouth and nose, according to Thai officials, who also revealed his bandage had been torn.

His toilet and shelves were destroyed, and his clothes were all over the place.

Anxiety and sleeping pills, antidepressants, steroids and marijuana were also found when the man, also known as Leo Longevity, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hughes went to check on Rex after being unable to reach him – before exposing the brutal reality.

Originally from Colorado, Rex had a YouTube channel called Leo and Longevity that had over 120,000 followers.

His videos were mostly about exercise and well-being while making the brazen claim that men could use his methods to enlarge their penises.

The investigation in Thailand is ongoing and Colomb hopes to be able to speed up the process with the help of the US authorities.

Close friend Hughes – aka Tony Huge – released an emotional video message after announcing his pal’s tragic death.

“Yes, it is true that Leo Longevity passed away. We believe he died around 11:30 a.m. on Friday or thereabouts. I didn’t find the body until Monday,” Hughes said.

“I didn’t check on him because I thought he either took a sleeping pill and just slept for 24 hours, then I became more and more suspicious as time went on.

Then I thought he went on vacation because he’s done it before, on a weekend vacation with a girlfriend or something.

“It wasn’t until I knocked on his door and looked behind the glass slider that I saw the room looked pretty torn.

“So I opened the sliding door, his bedroom door was locked but the sliding door was open on the side. I opened his bathroom door and the bathroom door wouldn’t open because his body was blocking the door.

“I try to be as open, honest and transparent about everything… There was no way anyone else could have done that to him the way the door was in the bathroom. There’s no way anyone was in the bathroom with him. Nor did he die of anything sudden or acute.

“It’s not like he took any drug and had a heart attack or anything. I remember there was noise coming from the room for 15, 20 minutes.

“I thought it was the sound of furniture moving, but now after watching the scene it looks like it’s the toilet making that sound. It looked like he was trying to get something that fell down the toilet toilet hole.”

The devastated friend continued: “His emotional state was actually very good. He was the happiest I had ever seen him before he died, which led me to believe it was a manic episode that went too far towards the happy, energetic side of the spectrum.

“Police have done a lot of forensic work, taken a lot of photos and conducted a lot of interviews and hopefully they’ll find more information, but it’s a really confusing situation.

“Without providing a lot of graphic detail, there’s just no way anyone else was involved.”
