Penguins Sign Chad Ruhwedel Protector Contract to Renew Contract – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Penguins have signed defender Chad Ruhwedel to a two-year contract extension, the team announced Saturday.

The one-way deal begins after the 2021-22 season and runs through the end of the 2023-24 campaign. Contracts have an average annual value of $800,000.

“Chad embodies what it means to be a teammate,” Pittsburgh General Manager Ron Hextall said in a statement. “His work ethic and positive attitude never wavered and we are delighted that he will be part of our team over the next few years.”

Ruhwedel has played 47 games this season, scoring six points.
