PAUL SCHOLES has been accused of playing full Roy Keane after downplaying Omonia Nicosia’s man of the moment, Francis Uzoho.
Manchester United looked set for a night of frustration as the Nigeria keeper put on a stunning display at Old Trafford.
He made an incredible 11 saves to beat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford while the Cypriot minnows seemed to deserve a point.
However, he was finally beaten in the closing seconds as substitute Scott McTominay secured a 1-0 win for United in the Europa League.
But it was the performance of 23-year-old Nigeria international Uzoho that grabbed the headlines.
The star grew up as a United fan and his performance was all the more remarkable as he is only Omonia’s second choice, only playing through Fabiano Freitas’ injury.
Scholes was less than impressed with the stopper’s efforts, despite the great fanfare from everyone else.
And much like his legendary colleague Keane, he played it way cooler than others, even claiming Uzoho only made ONE important save.
Speaking of BT sporthe said, “I’m really sorry [Uzoho] a little bit.
“Let’s put it right, it was the right result. [United were] so dominant in both games really.

“Sloppiness in front of goal, United saved themselves some embarrassment there.
“The keeper didn’t make any saves that you wouldn’t have thought he was capable of. United’s finish wasn’t quite there tonight.
“The goalkeeper was good. I don’t think he made incredible saves. I think it was a mix of poor workmanship too.
“He was happy. He saved almost everything. He was great, don’t get me wrong, but he saved everything he should have saved.”
Fans quickly took to Twitter to slam Scholes, with one saying: “Scholes goes all out for Roy Keane about goalkeeping.”
Another agreed, tweeting: “Scholes is channeling his inner Roy Keane!”
A colleague said: “You can’t just give a man credit when he’s playing in the biggest game of his life that he saved a lot tonight. Better goalkeepers would let you in under that pressure.”
And some United fans even urged Erik ten Hag to snap him up, with one writing: “Can we please sign this Omonia keeper?”
Another commented: “What a goalkeeper. Sign him up.”
