Manchester City were thought to be keen on snapping the 2018 world champions but Pogba feared a backlash from fans from United faithful.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain had been desperate to sign the player to bring him back to his native France.
But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have won the race for his services.
It is the second time the Old Lady has signed him for free after initially ending his contract with the Theater of Dreams in 2012.
He stayed for four years, winning the Serie A title each season, before returning to United in a record-breaking transfer.
Gazzetta says Pogba will earn £8.5million a year in Turin after bonuses.
The Frenchman has taken a whopping pay cut to get back working with Juve.
Pogba is currently making £290,000-a-week at United but he will now be pocketing £163,000-a-week in Italy.

Juve’s sporting director Federico Cherubini is understood to have flown to London earlier this week for talks with Pogba’s representatives.
Pogba is said to have been offered a three-year deal after Massimiliano Allegri made him his top target.
According to the Daily Mail, PSG came in late to convince him to join the Ligue 1 champions.
But it seems Pogba has his heart set on a reunion with the Serie A giants.
