PATRICK MAHOMES’ bag of tricks never seems to end.
In Week 14, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback had another fresh throw in the 34-28 win over the Denver Broncos.
On a third and two in the second quarter, Mahomes escaped a collapsing pocket and while sidearmed on the sidelines, he threw the ball over a Broncos defenseman to veteran running back Jerick McKinnon, who took it for a 56-yard touchdown came in.
The Chiefs had 27 unanswered points before the Broncos rallied to keep it a one-point game for most of the rest of the night.
Mahomes ended the day with 352 passing yards, three touchdowns and as many interceptions.
This was his first game with three interceptions since December 2020 in a win over the Miami Dolphins.
But despite the picks, that hasn’t stopped fans from raving about his unexpected scoop pass, which has continued to pile up 2.6 million views on twitter.
One fan commented, “Anyone my age who doesn’t think this guy is the best QB they’ve ever seen is just lying to themselves.”
Another said: “Mahomes had a ‘bad’ game, especially by his standards, and still managed to have two ridiculous plays that became TDs (this one and the one that made JuJu)”
But not everyone was convinced, and one replied: “Mahomes underhand throws a pass that a father of 3 could have made in his backyard. The Media: HOW DOES HE DO THAT?
Next up for Mahomes and the 10-3 Chiefs is a trip to Houston to take on the 1-11-1 Texans on Sunday, December 18th.
