Panga boat with 25 life vests discovered near Malibu


A panga boat with 25 life vests was found on shore close to Malibu early Monday morning.

The vessel initially seen floating off the coast was reported to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Workplace about 12:42 a.m., Capt. Hendren mentioned.

Arriving deputies discovered the deserted boat and 25 life vests on the sand near the intersection of Pacific Coast Freeway and Deer Creek Highway, Hendren mentioned.

Video from the scene confirmed a number of individuals being detained by authorities close to the boat.

Officers haven’t confirmed how many individuals, if any, had been taken into custody.
