SEPTEMBER shoppers stroll along the world famous retail hotspot, Oxford Street – under its Christmas lights.
Twinkling stars have appeared over the London landmark as the nation braces for skyrocketing energy bills.
The famous destination’s Christmas lights were switched on almost three months before December 25th.
The decorations use 300,000 LED bulbs, which are more efficient than traditional light bulbs.
Lights Display boss Hadas Kulcsar said: “We are excited to bring back the Christmas lights.”
Oxford Street will officially switch on the Christmas lights in November.
But one buyer said, “Lights already? We don’t even know if we can turn ours on this Christmas.”
Numerous municipalities across the country have already canceled local tuning-in events.
