Overall standings, top 6 qualified for Semifinals

Quarterfinals of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021 start today. Sixteen teams competed in six matches to determine the top six that would advance to the Semi-Finals.

Hyderabad Hydras topped the overall score leaderboard with 53 kills and 99 points. They played offensively from the first game, that showed in their overall score. 7Sea Esports, led by former Godlike player Aladin, had a slow start to the event but came back to claim second place with 94 points. Lower tier Old Hood Esp took third place having won two chicken dinners, while another bottom tier, Only Glitch, finished fourth without a single chicken dinner.

Team Forever, led by star players Owais, had a good start to the day but could not maintain their form and ranked 9th overall. Another famous team, Global Esports, also had a terrible day when they finished 12th. The elimination of both of these experienced teams shows how competitive the league is.

Old Hood Esp won the first and fourth games of the day with 13 and 7 frags respectively. The number of points earned in these two matches boosted their chances of qualifying.

The second match of the day, played on the desert map of Miramar, was won by Revenant Esports with 12 kills. However, it was Hyderabad Hydras that was at the top of the match rankings having won a massive 16 endings, of which Manty single-handedly took out 9 lives.

Mega Force Esports won the third match of the day with 11 kills. Following them are 7Sea Esports and Hyderabad Hydras with 14 and 10 frags each. Despite the win, Mega Force finished in eighth place on the scoreboard.

Hyderabad Hydras won their 5th game of the day with 12 finishes. 2OP Esports and 7Sea Esports followed them in second and third with 12 and five finishes respectively.

7Sea Esports won the sixth and final match of the group with 18 kills, of which Sarang had 8 kills and was named MVP. Global Esports is second with eight kills, while Only Glitch is third.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021 semi-finals are scheduled from January 7 to 10.
