An emergency official said 69 adult crocodiles and six juveniles escaped as the region was hit by rain from former Typhoon Haikui.

More than 100 landslides have trapped thousands of residents in floodwaters.

Some were captured, but others are more difficult to reach due to the depth of the lake they entered.

No injuries have been reported yet from the crocodiles, but seven died in the floods and more are missing after landslides.

Rain caused flash floods in Hong Kong last week, killing two people.
