Amanda Owen shared a unique Christmas rule she has for her family so she and her husband Clive can stay in control of the big day.
47-year-old star of Channel 5 . series Our Yorkshire Farm has said that with nine children, they must closely monitor how they organize the festival or it could turn out to be an expensive purchase.
The Yorkshire Shepherds spoke about their routine before the big day when appearing on channel 5 of Our Big Yorkshire Christmas on Sunday with the rest of the family.
Along with The Yorkshire Vet and other reality stars from the channel’s programmes, Amanda revealed that she and Clive have had to put a limit on what their kids get for Christmas as costs can quickly add up. .
When their kids unwrap the presents, Amanda says they keep presents to a minimum and focus on what each child really wants instead of buying too many presents.
“With a family of nine, we don’t go too far,” said the famous farmer.
Clive added: “We get the right stuff for them.”
He also said that no matter how many gifts the children received, they still appreciated what they received.
Amanda also admitted that she had some trials and tribulations in putting the Christmas turkey on the table, saying that one year she “dropped” the festive bird on her feet.

Then there’s the decoration of Ravenseat Farm for the Yuletide season, which the Shepherd admits is a bit looser with its rules.
Amanda said: “It’s always chaotic. This year’s decoration theme is ‘put everything in the tree and hope all is well’.
“But I like it that way. Our Christmas isn’t like the Christmas in the Next Folder. I can’t stand the discarded gifts.
“The kids always have something to open up, but it has to be something that doesn’t cost a lot and it has to be useful.
“For example, Edith is getting a new pair of school shoes.”
Amanda revealed that not only is the whole family excited to celebrate Christmas, but that Clara, the tamed cow, is often in the house.
She explained: “She was hand-fed as a child because her mother had no milk, so she thought she was a human.
“She doesn’t like the rain. Actually that’s a problem. I’ll do something and I’ll scream ‘why do I smell cow’?”
“And she’ll be in the living room.”
