The boxing legend celebrated his 50th birthday by revealing his birthday suit in a barely visible photoshoot this week.

De La Hoya struck a pose as he protected his modesty with his 1995 Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year belt.

And 11-time world champion De La Hoya, who retired in 2008 with a 39-6 record, proudly displayed his gold medal from the 1992 Olympics as he gazed into the camera.

He said: “Golden at 50 … not a boy anymore. I’ve spent my whole life looking for happiness. But today, on my 50th birthday, I can finally say I found it.

“I couldn’t be more proud of who I am and where I am in life. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would make it to 40 let alone 50. There were so many hard times.

“But the older I get, the happier I get. The best is ahead of me and I am finally excited to live it freely MY way.”

The former glove maker also took the time to recreate Muhammad Ali’s famous Sports Illustrated cover, in which he posed in front of a bank vault with a mountain of cash.

But all fans could talk about were De La Hoya’s abs, which took center stage in his nude photo.

One said, “You’ll always be the golden boy.”

Another explained: “How’s he still ripped?”

Others weren’t so thrilled, however, and one exclaimed, “It’s not that! Come on, get dressed.”

Another added: “You still have time to delete this.”

De La Hoya has been candid about his abs after they were accused of being fake.

But the boxass insists his abs are real, despite getting help from doctors who remove the surrounding fat via liposuction.

De La Hoya told the MMA Hour, “They’re real, they’re my abs. What I did was get a little help from a doctor.

“It’s called lipo sculpting something. I don’t know. You actually go in with a tiny needle and suck up your fat between your abs. So what happens is they just pop.

“I’ve always had abs, I exercised every day, so my body fat percentage is low. But when you sculpt those abs, they pop out like there’s no tomorrow.

“Everyone thinks they are fake. First of all, it’s not possible to have fake abs, but when you etch them, they just pop like there’s no tomorrow.

“I can gain 200 pounds and still have my abs because once the fat is removed it can’t grow back in that particular area. It’ll grow somewhere else, behind my damn shoulder or something.”
