AFFTON, Mo. – Police officers, friends and family from across the St. Louis paying his respects to Sunset Hills police officer Christy Meier.

Meier was only 47 years old when she died suddenly after returning home from her shift last Friday. It was the call Sunset Hills Sheriff Stephen Dodge said he never wanted to receive.

Some people come to know Meier beyond her badge. Nancy McFall knows her in the bingo room.

“We were bingo together and she was going to play “pull the tab”, and we were going to have to start her horse race! She always had a number, and she always wanted to win,” recalls McFall. “Sad for her family and for her grandchild. She is in a better place. “

Dodge said: “She was a dedicated cop. “But most importantly, she is a wonderful mother and a wonderful wife. Just a great person. ”

Meier’s funeral will take place at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Saint Justin Martyr in Sunset Hills. The department is also asking residents to wait in long lines to show their support.

The procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 19. It will travel west on Gravois Road to Lindbergh Avenue, north on Lindbergh Avenue, to Eddie and Park, and east to Eddie and Park. to St.Justin the Martyr.

People traveling in the area at the time of the procession will be subject to traffic congestion, with some roads blocked around Eddie and Park and Lindbergh between 9:00am and 10:00am shining.
