Open cold weather shelters in Charlotte County

PORT CHARLOTTE

With temperatures forecast to be near freezing on Sunday night, the Homeless Coalition is opening a cold weather shelter for those in need in Port Charlotte.

The shelter is located at 1476 Kenesaw Street in Port Charlotte. It will accept those in need of shelter from the cold from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, or until shelters run out.

The Red Cross is also helping by providing cots for the shelter.
