The Permanent Fund dividend claim season began on January 1st and will last until March 31st.

It is important that adults and children apply separately.

For example, a family with two parents and three children must submit a total of five applications.

Keep in mind that the 2023 PFD amount has not been finalized yet, but the 2022 PFD amount was $3,284.

HOW TO APPLY?

Residents can submit their applications online or receive a paper application from distribution centers across the state.

Adults apply using an existing myAlaska account or create a new one.

There are three dividend information offices to receive filings: Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau.

The PFD offices are open to the public Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 4pm.

The offices are closed on Thursdays and national holidays.

2022 PFD REQUIREMENTS

In 2022, you must have completed an application by March 31, 2022 to qualify for payment.

One of the main requirements is that you must have lived in Alaska throughout 2021.

See page one of the Alaska Statutes and Regulations for more information on eligibility.

Since the fall, Alaska has been sending money to residents — but some groups still owe $3,284 in payments.

2022 PFD SCHEDULE

This may apply if your application shows an Eligible – Not Paid status.

If applicants saw the message reflected on February 8th, the PFD was sent out on February 16th.

Additionally, dividend applicants with Eligible-Not Paid status on March 8 will receive their money on March 16.

The same applies to those who receive the same status on April 12.

Payment will be made on April 20th.

OTHER RELIEF CONTROLS

The relief checks don’t stop there, as the first round of 5,000 checks from Maine was mailed out in the last week of January.

The Maine Revenue Service began issuing nearly 200,000 checks a week on February 5.

Approximately 880,000 Maine residents will receive the payments.

People who qualify for the checks are expected to receive them by the end of March.

Gov. Janet Mills said: “High energy prices have made it harder for Maine families to stay warm this winter.

“The people of Maine will begin receiving their $450 relief payment to ease the burden of increased energy costs.”

To qualify for the energy relief payments, you must have filed a Maine income tax return as a permanent resident for the 2021 tax year, but the deadline was October 31, 2022.

In addition, you must also have earned less than $150,000 if you filed as head of household, but if you filed jointly your income must be less than $200,000.
