On Jeanie Buss’ relationship with comedian Jay Mohr after the Lakers boss called off the wedding to the NBA coaching icon

JEANIE BUSS has dedicated her whole life to sport, only the right sport gives her something important in return.

And so has he, the Los Angeles Lakers governor is now engaged to comedian Jay Mohr after the two bonded over the passions they share – one of which is sports.

Aside from making people laugh on Saturday Night Live, Mohr’s job includes hosting a Los Angeles Rams pregame show and the NASCAR Cup Series awards ceremony.

He also briefly had his own talk show on ESPN in the early 2000s, which he reportedly preferred to a project leading up to Jimmy Kimmel Live! should be.

It is no coincidence that he met the daughter of the late Dr. Jerry Buss, who has led basketball, tennis, roller hockey and wrestling organizations since she was a teenager.

Mohr and Buss were first spotted together in 2017 — a year after their split from NBA coaching legend Phil Jackson.

Jackson became the head coach of the Lakers in 1999 after leading the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls to two three-pointers, and began dating Buss a few months after taking charge in LA.

They even got engaged in the early 2010s.

But dark clouds descended on Buss and Jackson’s relationship in 2014 when he agreed to take over as front office for the New York Knicks.

Two years later, they called off the wedding.

“Given the nature of our professional commitments and the geographic distance between us, it has been difficult to maintain the relationship,” Jackson wrote on Twitter.

However, they remained friends.

“The love of my life is the Los Angeles Lakers. I love Phil and always will,” Buss tweeted.

“It’s not fair to him or the Lakers not to have my undivided attention.”

Buss also took to Twitter to let the world know that her relationship with Mohr was blossoming.

“Happiness. Love. Joy. You gave me this on my birthday and every day in between,” she tweeted last year, on the day she turned 60.

Mohr has gone through a difficult breakup of his own, ending his nine-year marriage to actress Nikki Coz — the divorce finalized in 2018.

But now that the dark times are over for both of them, eternal happiness seems to be waiting for him and Buss.

“Jeanie was head over heels for Jay,” reports TMZ.

“They look forward to spending the rest of their lives together.”
