NZ vs BAN 2022: Kyle Jamieson fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct in 2nd trial against Bangladesh

New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson was fined 15% of his game fee for violating the International Cricket Council (ICC) Code of Conduct during the second match against Bangladesh.

The sloppy fast bowler has been found guilty of violating Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct in relation to ‘using language, actions or gestures that are unpopular or likely to provoke an aggressive response from the player when he/she is sent off in an international match’ .

A commendable point was also added to his disciplinary record. This is Kyle Jamieson’s third offense in 24 months. He now has a total of three honor points on his record.

The incident occurred during the 41st inning of Bangladesh’s first round on Monday. The ICC said the New Zealand team ‘used inappropriate language’ after sacking Yasir Ali. The 27-year-old admitted the offense and accepted the punishment and did not need a formal hearing on the matter.

Jamieson’s previous violations were on March 23, 2021 in the ODI match against Bangladesh and on December 28, 2020 in the test match against Pakistan.

Kyle Jamieson wins four as New Zealand beats Bangladesh in second test

New Zealand took on Bangladesh 278 in their second inning to win one inning and 117 runs at Christchurch.

Kyle Jamieson picked up four downs, including that of centurion Liton Das, to help New Zealand end the victory. This saw a two-match streak ending in a 1-1 draw after the Tigers upset the hosts on the first test.

A great 252 from Tom Latham and Devon Conway’s second century in the series supported New Zealand through 521/6. Bangladesh, who excelled with the bat in the First Test, could not replicate their form and hit the 126 mark on a hit Trent Boult better. Yasir Ali is the top scorer with 55.

Next, Liton Das launched a counterattack 102 times, but the Tigers only scored 278 points, suffering a heavy defeat. Bangladesh, however, will be happy to have pulled the series off thanks to an 8-stroke win on the first test.
