A NURSE accused of murdering seven babies broke down in tears yesterday as a doctor testified at her trial.
Lucy Letby, who had remained calm throughout the 16-week case, was led into the cells to calm herself.
She broke down when a pediatrician, who cannot legally be named, began testifying.
It was about baby L – one of the twins Letby allegedly injected insulin at a Chester hospital.
Letby wiped tears from a box with tissues and sipped water at Manchester Crown Court.
Judge James Goss asked a defense attorney to review them.
A lawyer then spoke to her through a pane of glass.
Letby, 33, from Hereford, denies murdering seven babies and attempting to kill ten.
The process goes on.
