NOVAK DJOKOVIC is one of THREE players in the top 100 men and women who are not fully immunized against the coronavirus.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion is deported by the Australian government earlier this week after the country’s immigration minister revoked the visa.
And Djokovic doesn’t have a lot of company when it comes to not being poked.
Based on walkie talkie, American Tennys Sandgren is the only other male player in the ATP top 100 who was not fully vaccinated before the Australian Open.
He then revealed that that was the reason behind his not playing there.
Meanwhile in the women’s tournament, the WTA revealed that 99 of the top 100 players were involved in a collision.
An unvaccinated player remains unnamed.
Everyone competing at the Melbourne Grand Slam must be fully vaccinated or medically exempted prior to the tournament.
The Australian Open starts on Monday.
Djokovic has exempted as it turned out, he looked ready to defend his Australian Open title.
But then he was hindered by government officials like a tumultuous trial that ended with his expulsion.
Vaccination rates among tennis players have skyrocketed due to strict border controls enforced by Australia.
At the US Open 2021 five months ago, about half of the players were still unvaccinated.
World number 4 Stefano Tsitsipas is among those who say they won’t get stabbed, unless it becomes mandatory to compete.

And in the days leading up to the first Slam of 2022, vaccination rates among female players jumped from 85% to 99%.
Meanwhile, Djokovic could face similar problems at the French Open and US Open.
France has implemented a vaccination system for all sports athletes, while the US is also interested in preventing people from getting stabbed.
