Nottingham Forest are looking to ambush Huddersfield in Harry Toffolo transfer after missing full-back Djed Spence

NOTTINGAM FOREST are reportedly considering a move for Huddersfield full-back Harry Toffolo.

Forest are expected to miss Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence, who helped the side gain promotion to the Premier League while on loan at the club last season.

Tottenham appear in pole position to sign him, leaving Steve Cooper’s men turning their attention to other targets such as Toffolo.

The Athletic report that Forest will bid for the left-back.

Toffolo was one of Huddersfield’s standout players last season when they narrowly missed out on promotion to Forest and lost the play-off final.

The 26-year-old made 48 appearances for Town last season, scoring six goals and providing eight assists.

His contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but Huddersfield sparked a one-year extension.

However, his future reportedly remains uncertain as negotiations for a long-term deal have not progressed.

Forest will also make an improved offer for Liverpool’s Neco Williams, claim The Athletic.

Reports suggest Liverpool have turned down Forest’s offer and are awaiting the £15m they wanted.

Meanwhile, the promoted team is aiming for a move from Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

An exclusive SunSport said the deal could be announced within a week.

This comes as Brice Samba, the current No. 1, may want to leave the club.

It could be their second big deal of the summer after completing the transfer of Taiwo Awoniyi from Union Berlin.

The striker arrives for a fee of £17million.
