Notorious bling ring thief left penniless and living on family handouts after bankruptcy and stalking conviction

A NOTORIOUS bling ring thief was left penniless and living off family handouts after he declared himself bankrupt and was convicted of stalking.

Nick Prugo, now 31, was among a group of friends who stole nearly $3 million in cash and broke into the homes of A-listers including Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom and Lindsay Lohan.

Prugo is now the focus of a Netflix documentary The Real Bling Ring, giving viewers a glimpse into the gang’s antics.

But in March 2018, he filed for bankruptcy in a California court because he owed more than $120,000, according to The US Sun.

Prugo owed debts to a number of credit card companies, including more than $20,000 to American Express and Chase Bank.

He owed $15,741 to Discover Financial, $5,161 to Barclays Bank and $2,139 to Citibank.

Prugo owed Volkswagen Credit $22,839, PayPal $2,500, Amazon $1,425, and TJ Maxx $419.

Volkswagen confiscated its Audi A6 valued at more than $20,000 in November 2017.

Financial giant First Entertainment Credit Union reportedly tried to sue Prugo for $26,270.

Prugo stated that his only assets were a $3,500 2005 Toyota Camry and a combined $2,800 in electronics, clothing and jewelry.

And he was unemployed and dependent on a $2,700 handout reportedly coming from his family.

Prugo filed for bankruptcy just a few years after his conviction for stalking beautician Dawn DaLuise.

He and his sidekick Edward Feinstein were also accused of using fake advertising to encourage men to rape DaLuise.

However, these charges were later dismissed by a judge.

And Prugo was handed 350 hours of community service, three years of probation and an order to stay away from the victim for a decade.

He first met DaLuise after serving half of his two-year sentence for his role in the burglaries.

Prugo is known as Nick Norgo on his Instagram channel.

The so-called bling ring also consisted of Rachel Lee, Alexis Neiers and Diana Tamayo.

Lee was reportedly the mastermind behind the string of celebrity heists and spent 16 months behind bars.

Neiers was a reality star on Pretty Wild when she was arrested for her involvement in the robberies.

Wendy Feldman, who advised co-conspirator Lee before she was jailed, has criticized Prugo and Neiers for appearing in the Netflix series.

She claimed that they are holding on to their shame and trying to stay in the spotlight.

Feldman also claimed that Prugo and Neiers were “rats” and claimed they were “addicted” to the limelight.

Neiers told the LA Times that a few years ago she wished her name wasn’t associated with the bling ring.

But she admitted: I’ve realized that we don’t heal by pushing away our recovery or our history, we recover by owning all the messy, complex parts that often make it truly magical.

Prugo shared the reactions of fans when they commented on social media about watching the document.

A woman named Justine said, “That’s cute! At the end of the day, he was someone who always made me laugh.

“He was such a light and we can’t blame anyone for his past. I support you.”

Prugo replied, “You’re too cute.”

Fans also commented on the “tea” spilled on the document by Prugo and Neiers.
