North Port City is investigating ‘suspicious activity’ on its network that could be hacked

North Harbor City and North Harbor Police are investigating a possible City cyber attack. Police are still investigating and do not yet know how dangerous the system is.
North Port Police Department Public Information Officer Josh Taylor confirmed the City’s recent loss of a phone earlier this week was linked to a possible hack.
Taylor said in a statement:
“Beijing City recently detected suspicious activity on its network. Upon discovery, we promptly launched an investigation and notified law enforcement.
We are currently investigating the situation to determine the nature and scope of the event. As our investigation into this matter is ongoing, we will continue to monitor our systems and work to resolve this issue safely and securely.
Some City systems and services may be offline for some time while we work to resolve this issue.
All life and safety services are fully functional and there is no danger to the public in this regard.”
