MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville has been snubbed online after predicting his former team would beat Manchester City.
Neville’s pre-match claim didn’t age well at all as United were beaten 6-3 at the Etihad after hat-tricks from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden.
The Star Expert shared a clip on his private Twitter account The taunting ex-City ace and fellow Sky Sports colleague Micah Richards tell him Pep Guardiola’s side are ‘getting ready’ before kick-off.
Neville said: “Well I’ve just seen the teams here at the Etihad and this crowd is getting ready! It’s getting ready.”
Richards warned: “Don’t count your chickens, Gary. You’ve done this many times [Jamie] Carragher.”
However, Neville replied confidently, “My chickens have been counted.”
But that optimism could not have lasted long as United were 4-0 down at half-time.
Fans flooded Neville’s comments section and didn’t hold back as they slammed his earlier words.
One fan tweeted: “Gary Neville ahead of game start – City getting ready… As are your pundits… No blooming hint.”
Another wrote: “Definitely holding back tears when he hears Gary Neville’s comment on Sky.”

A third wrote: “Is there a bigger curse in world football than Gary Neville?”
This supporter declared, “Oh dear, that hasn’t aged well.”
And he tweeted: “You meant United were getting ready, right?”
