Nintendo fans go wild as new Switch console and Mario game are officially teased
NINTENDO just unveiled more details about its next Mario game and officially announced a new Switch console variant.
The company hosted a major Mario-themed Nintendo Direct broadcast on Thursday, showcasing the new features of its upcoming game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

The latest title to be released on October 20, 2023is a 2D Mario game that has some improvements over its predecessors.
Super Mario Bros Wonder will bring a huge roster of playable characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yellow Toad, Blue Toad, Toadette, Yoshi, and Nabbit.
As in previous Mario games, Yoshi also acts as a mount, and any character can ride Yoshi, even Yoshi himself.
Both Yoshi and Nabbit are the upcoming game’s easy mode characters as they are resistant to damage and only lose a life when they fall into a pit.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder: New Features
Apart from the well-known Fire Flower, which Mario and Co. use to throw fireballs at enemies, the game will feature three new power-ups.
Mario fans were beside themselves when they saw it elephant shape for the first time in the previous teaser for the game.
As the name suggests, the ability allows your character to transform into an elephant and break sturdy objects simply by running over them or hitting them with your trunk.
While in elephant form, players can also suck up and spray water with their trunks.
bubble shape And drill shape are two brand new abilities that we’ve never seen before.
The former allows your character to trap enemies by throwing bubbles at them, while the latter turns your character into a drill, allowing him to hide in the floor or ceiling.
The Drill ability can also help Mario and his friends reach areas of the level that would otherwise be inaccessible simply by drilling a hole.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be there Local co-op multiplayeralso known as couch coop.
In this mode, you can team up with up to three other friends sitting in the same room.
miracle flowers are the main new feature of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and allow players to completely change levels and even their characters just by touching a flower.
Online multiplayer lets other players from all over the world appear as ghosts in your level.
Your goal will be to reach the end of the level at the same time as the other players you see to get a bonus.
Multiplayer also features a race mode where you can challenge friends and strangers to complete a level as quickly as possible.
Nintendo Switch OLED Mario Red Edition console
As previously leaked, Nintendo also announced a new Nintendo Switch OLED console model.
The new Switch color variant is themed after the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder game.

The Special Edition console features two Joy-Cons in Mario’s signature red colorway, along with a matching red Switch Dock.
The color of the back of the console is also Mario Red, which is a slightly different hue than Neon Red on the standard Switch.
On the back of the new red dock, a small running Mario silhouette can be seen in the lower left corner, and opening the dock’s back cover reveals a lovely Easter egg for Mario fans.
Deliveries of the Nintendo Switch – OLED model – Mario Red Edition will start on October 6, 2023and fans can pre-order it now from the Nintendo Store.
price at $349.99The Limited Edition console costs the same as a regular Switch OLED model and $10 less than the The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom variant.
