Britain’s Boxing Board of Control refused to sanction the fight after the test failure was revealed, despite promoter Eddie Hearn attempting to push the fight through the courts.
But now Benn Sr, 58, appears to have accepted the verdict and begun planning a rescheduled catchweight bout.
Benn, whose son tested positive for a testosterone booster, wrote: “Hey guys, as you know we are absolutely in shock.
“I’ve been with my son for the past ten weeks and the training has gone absolutely as well as it could have been.

“He’s a dedicated coach, he leaves no stone unturned and we’ll get to the bottom of it, I love my son.
“I know he doesn’t cut corners, he’s just 100 per cent straight forward, but we’ll keep you posted and let you know what the next step is.”
“But he is a loyal coach and a clean athlete. Speak to you all soon, God bless you.”
Benn is not banned from the British Boxing Association.
