Nicola Bulley: Moment when massive emergency response measures were discovered five miles from where missing mother-of-two disappeared

HEARTWRENCHING video shows a huge emergency presence just five miles downstream from where missing mother Nicola Bulley disappeared.

The 45-year-old dog walker disappeared after taking her children to school in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire, on Friday January 27.

Since then there has been no trace of the mother of two, leaving her family in torment.

Cops this week revealed their “main working hypothesis” that Nicola “sadly fell into the icy River Wyre”.

And last night, residents spotted more than 10 emergency vehicles on the Shard Bridge – five miles from where she disappeared.

Police confirmed they were called to the area at 5.51pm Monday to search for the missing mother.

The video shows the police officers present, the Coast Guard and ambulances.

Their vehicles line the right hand of their bridge with their blue and white flashing lights.

Residents also report that drones are currently scanning the area.

And the drivers say the emergency services were standing on the edge of the bridge.

However, police say nothing has been found.

A Lancashire Police spokesman told The Sun: “The search of the sands and surrounding area near the Shard Bridge by Lancashire Police and the Coastguard has yielded negative results.”

It comes after Specialist Group International (SGI) searched the waters yesterday.

However, Peter Faulding, founder of SGI, said their search was in vain – after nothing was discovered.

SGI had offered their services for free to provide answers to Nicola’s family and is using a helicopter to search for her.

They also use market-leading 18,000kHz side-scan sonar to scan the river.

Lancashire Police previously said their “main working hypothesis” was that Nicola “unfortunately fell into the river”.

Supt Sally Riley claimed there may have been an “issue” with dog Willow that led Nicola to the water’s edge.

Police believed the mother could have gone to the river to get the dog’s tennis ball when she may have fallen in.
