Two of the thieves were carrying guns while another carried a knife while the attackers took off in the vehicle.
According to the Toronto Sun, Marner was “shattered” by the incident but escaped unharmed.
The horrifying crime happened just a day after the Maple Leafs were knocked out of the NHL playoffs by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
However, there is no indication that the perpetrators knew that Marner was driving.

A source told the Toronto Sun: “The guys came in with masks and said they wanted the vehicle.
“Mitch said, ‘Go ahead and take it.’
“The suspects didn’t know it was Marner.
“They were only interested in the Range Rover, which they can quickly sell out of the country.”
Toronto Mayor John Tory condemned the incident and said police are working hard to prevent carjackings in the area.
He said: “My first reaction is how dare anyone do that to someone in our town.
“Violence against a resident is unacceptable and I know the Toronto Police Department is working incredibly hard to bring those responsible to justice.
“I am grateful that no one was physically injured in this incident, according to police.
“I know the police are working to arrest the suspects in this case and have been working non-stop to crack down on carjacking – a number of arrests were announced last week.
“I’m sure our amazing police force will get to the bottom of this incident and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.”
No arrests have been reported so far.
