NFL star and near-MVP with career-earning $128 million wakes up out of work but is targeted as back-up QB ahead of the season

CARSON Wentz’s NFL career has been a roller coaster – and now the star QB is hoping to land a replacement job.
The 30-year-old quarterback has over $128 million in career earnings and last played in the NFL in 2022 with the Washington commanders.
Wentz has played seven seasons in the NFL, playing for three franchises.
Raised in North Dakota, the quarterback was an underrecruited high school player growing up.
He attended North Dakota State University for five seasons and had a legendary career, winning five FCS championships with that program.
Wentz shot up on draft boards despite playing in a minor non-Div1


School in NDSU.
He was selected as the second overall pick by the national team in the 2016 NFL draft Philly Eagles and sustained instant success.
In his second season in the NFL, he was the top MVP contender until suffering a devastating knee injury.
The Eagles would win the Super Bowl that year despite his injury, changing the course of his tenure with the team.
He left the Eagles in 2021 and joined the Indianapolis Colts, where he spent one season before joining the Commanders.
He has earned a whopping $128 million in his career so far.
The Commanders fired Wentz in February, and the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are rumored to be interested in him as a backup QB.
It remains to be seen whether a team will sign Wentz ahead of the new season.
