As pressure continues to mount on Bill Belichick, an NFL Hall of Famer has launched a scathing attack on the coach.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Warren Sapp, 50, has accused the New England Patriots head coach of siding with legendary players throughout his career.
Published on Fearless with Jason WhitlockSapp accused Belichick of arrogance and referred, among other things, to allegations of Spygate and fraud.
He then continued: “Tom Brady is the reason you are Bill Belichick. Lawrence Taylor is the reason you are Bill Belichick.”
“Perhaps the best offensive football player and perhaps the best defensive football player of all time in the National Football League.”
“Bill, you owe it to him. The whole ‘Patriot Way’ nonsense is out the window.”
“Ask Bill O’Brien. Ask Romeo Crennell. Ask Josh McDaniels. Ask any of them. It’s out the window.”
Taylor and Belichick won two Super Bowls together with the New York Giants while the latter was LT’s defensive coordinator.
As for Brady, he won six Super Bowls with Belichick during their two decades together in New England.
And despite rumors that Belichick might move on to another team after this season, Sapp clearly believed it was doomed.

“And you can’t recreate it somewhere else because nobody cares,” he said, adding: “Nobody respects that except you and the old-school football guys.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Sapp then told Belichick, “It’s time to go to the couch, the game is over.”
Even though Sapp feels like Belichick’s best days are behind him, that doesn’t seem to be stopping some teams from taking a chance on him.
Both the Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Chargers have been heavily linked to the 71-year-old recently.
This is all happening as the Patriots continue to struggle and sit bottom of the AFC East at 2-8.
Since Brady joined the Buccaneers in March 2020, New England has made the playoffs just once.
By comparison, with Brady under center, they missed the postseason just twice in nineteen seasons.
As for Sapp’s concerns that the “Patriots Way” has had its day, those were apparently confirmed in a recent interview by former New England star Rob Gronkowski.
Appearing on “Up And Adams,” the four-time Super Bowl champion said, “The culture was definitely set with Coach Belichick, but Tom Brady took that culture to another level to make it work.”
Gronkowski also admitted on the FS1 show that things would never be quite the same without Brady.
He said: “Brady was awesome. He was the star of this organization, no doubt, from A to Z.”
“From the way you represent yourself on the field to the way you represent yourself off the field, it just fit the mold for everyone else to fit in.”
“And without Tom, I saw that it would wear off and stop working.”
