PAT MCAFEE has left his FanDuel TV show in safe hands after heading to Austin for his College Gameday debut.
The former NFL star, 35, announced earlier this month that he will be leaving WWE SmackDown for the season to take on his new role as an analyst.
McAfee is juggling a number of media commitments and recently inked a new “long-term” deal with WWE.
The ex-football star has become a wrestling fan favorite after teaming up with legendary commentator Michael Cole.
WWE announced that he will be stepping back from his engagements while he comes to Gameday.
And due to his new travel schedule, McAfee was late for his own FanDuel show, letting AJ Hawk take the lead.
AJ kicked off the show to cheers and cheers from the other panel, saying, “I’m just so happy to be here.
“We’ve got NFL football back … and I think if you’re a Bills fan, you feel pretty good about who your quarterback is.
“Pat is in Austin right now and will be joining us there for the second hour of the show at the Gameday Center.”
Fans were thrilled to see the former NFL star at the desk — especially after he continued Kay Adams’ new show.
One wrote: “Kay Adams to AJ Hawk is a great way to start Friday.”
While another added: “Glad to see AJ host today!”
And a third fan just said: “AJ HAWK IN THE BUILDING!”
This isn’t the first time Hawk has stepped in for McAfee, with the Super Bowl XLV champion being a seasoned pro behind the mic.
He has a long-running podcast called HawkCast and is a co-host alongside Pat on FanDuel.
McAfee later dialed into the show – and admitted he may need to do some research ahead of his Gameday debut.
Pat said: “I have to learn something to be honest.
“It feels like I have a lot to learn before tomorrow morning.
“But I have a lot of faith in my brain.”
