NFL commentator Greg Olsen isn’t afraid to compete with Tom Brady for the FOX job as the icon moves into the broadcast booth

GREG OLSEN is ‘not afraid’ that Tom Brady may be taking his booth job away.

The former NFL tight end, 37, joined FOX Sports as an analyst after retiring in 2021.

Olsen is currently partnered with Kevin Burkhardt and will call the Super Bowl on February 12th.

But his position could be threatened by Brady, 45, who announced his own retirement from football earlier this month.

Brady signed a record ten-year, $375 million deal with FOX last year.

He will work as an analyst during live games, with reports suggesting Burkhard will be his on-air partner.

The GOAT has indicated he will be taking some time off from the game with his family before moving behind the mic.

And while Brady may not enter the commentary box until 2024, Olsen is ready to “fight” for his role – just like he did on the football pitch.

The former Panther told USA Today: “If you’re afraid to compete and you’re afraid people will come for your job, then you’re not going to do well in any competitive environment.

“Each year [in the NFL]they try to replace you.

“Every year they try to get the new hotshot, young player to take your job.”

Brady signed his lucrative contract with FOX last summer – and Olsen admits he knew he could potentially lose his job to the seven-time Super Bowl winner.

He continued, “It’s something I knew our team would follow all year long.

“I understood that when I signed up for it. It never really bothered me.

“I was just trying to understand that there are some things in life that you can’t change and that you can’t change.

“So you might as well learn to embrace it. Take the positive side of it.”

Though Brady could eventually throw Olsen from the dressing room, the 14-year NFL veteran is relishing his chance to call the Super Bowl this weekend.

Olsen said: “I don’t know what the future will bring. I don’t know if I’ll ever be here to do that again.

“I hope I call ten [Super Bowls].

“But I’m telling you I’m going to enjoy this first one and make the most of it because people work their whole lives to have moments like this.

“Whatever is supposed to be will work out. My goal is to make as many shows as good as possible.

“I worry about when this day will end if it comes.”
