Brock purdy threw for 220 yards and two scores Brandon Aiyukin his return from elbow surgery in the offseason, and the San Francisco 49ers beat the Steelers of Pittsburgh in the first week game.
Purdy, who went from being the last pick in the 2022 draft to becoming a starter in San Francisco after leading the 49ers to the NFC championship game, completed 19 of 29 passes, including touchdowns of eight and 19 yards to Aiyuk.
Christian McCraffrey ran for 151 yards and a touchdown for the 49ers, who were every bit as dominant as they were late last season when Purdy took over as the starting quarterback.
The 49ers didn’t need Nick Bosa, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, to step in with his chaotic style and limit Kenny Pickett, the Steelers’ second-year quarterback.
