NEWCASTLE are reportedly close to signing Australian prodigy Garang Kuol.
The 18-year-old only made his international debut over the weekend but is considered to be the next big thing Down Under.
Toon bosses have made it a priority to sign some of the world’s best young talent through an extensive scouting network Sky Sports.
And teenage prodigy Kuol is said to be on Newcastle’s wish list.
The club are said to be close to finalizing a deal to bring Kuol to Tyneside from Australian club Central Coast Mariners.
And that’s despite interest in the young striker from German giants Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga club has a reputation for signing young talent and turning them into world-class stars.
But it’s Newcastle who are on the verge of signing the teenage sensation.
Kuol has scored an impressive four goals in nine league games for the Central Coast Mariners.
His form earned him a first call-up for Australia this month.

Kuol came off the bench for a 17-minute cameo in Sunday’s 2-0 win against New Zealand, becoming the sixth-youngest player in Socceroos history.
But Kuol isn’t Toon’s only transfer target.
Howe is reportedly in line SIX potential signings in January as he tries to prepare his side for a European challenge.
