And since that epic encounter in 2016, Farrell’s side have beaten the All Blacks three of the last five times and won the Triple Crown at the Six Nations earlier this year.

The Irish were in such fervent form that France were the only team to beat them that year.

But Maori All Blacks gave them a bit of a setback despite going on in Hamilton.

Team News

New Zealand head coach Ian Foster has decided to give six uncapped players a chance to make their mark against Ireland.

Prop Aidan Ross, backrower Pita Gus Sowakula, scrum-half Folau Fakatava, fly-half Stephen Perofeta, center Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and wing Leicester Fainga’anuku are all expected to make their full debuts.

However, Joe Moody, Anton Lienert-Brown and Ethan Blackadder have all been ruled out with injuries, while Damian McKenzie and Patrick Tuipulotu are currently ineligible for selection after being in Japan.

Ireland have their own problems as Iain Henderson was injured before Ireland had even kicked a ball.

But on the other hand, Tadhg Beirne has shrugged off his punch and is expected to start alongside James Ryan for Saturday’s big encounter.
